Seventeen years old Dholchand, a resident of a remote village Badin, Sindh, has been suffering from difficulties passing urine for the last three months. With a village where no standard medical facilities are available, his pain was becoming unbearable. Dolchand was taken to a public hospital, where they attached a urine bag. He went to ISRA hospital, where the doctor diagnosed Dholchand with Urethral Stricture. After the diagnosis, the doctor advised him to undergo a Urethroplasty. Urethroplasty is surgical reconstruction of the urethra that has been narrowed by scar tissue (urethral stricture). 

Dholchand’s family consists of nine people and his father is a laborer. With a family of nine people to feed and raise, it was impossible for him to arrange the amount for his son’s surgery. Since the doctor was aware of their financial conditions, he referred Dholchand to Transparent Hands. We verified and registered his case. While talking to Transparent Hands, He said:

“ I am just seventeen years old. I want to study and I have dreams to become a successful person to provide my family with the things they have been deprived of for a long time now. This pain is unbearable and it is limiting my life. I want to be able to live normally like my other age mates.”
