Naeem Akhtar Awaits Medical Management for Varicose Veins
Naeem Akhtar's Story
Naeem Akhtar, a 48-year-old resident of Jhelum, has been suffering from persistent leg problems since 2018. He initially experienced an achy and heavy feeling in his legs, accompanied by swelling and color changes due to bilateral varicose vein disease. In 2020, Naeem underwent an operation for these issues. However, his symptoms have returned, and he now faces significant swelling, discomfort, and visible veins in both legs. Recently, Naeem consulted a doctor who advised a Doppler ultrasound as well as medical management. However, the cost of the treatment is overwhelming for Naeem.
If left untreated, Naeem’s condition may worsen, increasing his risk of complications such as chronic pain, skin ulcers, and potentially life-threatening blood clots.
Naeem lives in a small house with his seven family members. He works as a security guard, earning a modest monthly income of PKR 17,000, which supports his family of seven. His earnings barely cover basic household expenses, leaving him unable to afford the cost of the essential medical care. During this challenging time, Naeem reached out to Transparent Hands and asked for help.
Naeem Akhtar said in despair:
“The constant pain and swelling in my legs have made it incredibly difficult for me to stand, work, and provide for my family. I dream of living a healthy, pain-free life, but the cost of treatment is far beyond my reach. I feel helpless, and I humbly ask for your support to help me regain my health and dignity. Please help me overcome this challenge.”

Naeem Akhtar's Story
Naeem Akhtar, a 48-year-old resident of Jhelum, was suffering from an aching, heavy sensation in both of his legs. His condition was accompanied by swelling and discoloration due to bilateral varicose vein disease. In 2020, he underwent surgery to address the condition, but the relief was temporary.
Over time, his symptoms reappeared, and Naeem began to experience severe swelling, discomfort, and visible veins in both legs. Naeem went to a local hospital and consulted a doctor, who recommended a Doppler ultrasound and medical care to alleviate his condition and prevent complications. Unfortunately, the cost of the prescribed treatment was far beyond what Naeem could afford.
Living in a modest home with seven family members, Naeem’s earnings as a security guard barely cover his household expenses. He earned PKR 17,000 per month, which left him with no means to pay for the necessary medical care. His untreated condition put him at risk of severe complications, including chronic pain, skin ulcers, and potentially life-threatening blood clots. With no other options, Naeem reached out to Transparent Hands for assistance. Understanding the critical nature of his situation, Transparent Hands registered his case. On December 19, 2024, Naeem visited Lahore Care Hospital, where he underwent the recommended Doppler ultrasound and diagnosed with Deep venous thrombosis (DVT) involving both legs and bilateral varicose veins. He received medical management for his DVT under the expert care of Dr. Talha.
Naeem expressed his gratitude as follows:
