Muhammad Usman's Story

Muhammad Usman, a 27-year-old man from Lahore, experiences progressive enlargement of his right breast as well as intermittent pain in the area. It has taken a heavy toll on his mental and emotional well-being. He consulted a doctor about his condition, who, after running some diagnostic tests and an ultrasound scan diagnosed Usman with Gynecomastia, a condition characterized by the abnormal enlargement of breast tissue in men. The doctor recommended a right Subcutaneous Mastectomy. However, the cost of the surgery is beyond the financial capacity of Usman.

This condition has turned Usman’s life into a daily struggle. Due to the excessive enlargement of his right breast, he has become extremely self-conscious and avoids social interactions. It has lowered his self-esteem, leaving him feeling isolated.

The surgery is essential to remove the excess tissue and restore his masculine chest contour. If Usman doesn’t undergo the surgery, his condition will continue to worsen, potentially leading to more physical discomfort and pain.

Usman lives in a two-room rented house with his six family members. He works at an old age home and earns PKR 20,000 monthly. His brother is a daily wage laborer, but the family’s insufficient monthly income barely covers the monthly rent of PKR 15000 and utility bills totaling PKR 4000. Due to their financial hardships, affording the costly surgery is challenging for them. In this time of need, Usman reached out to Transparent Hands and asked us for help.

He went to a nearby hospital and consulted a doctor, who after a thorough examination and evaluation diagnosed him with right gynecomastia - an abnormal enlargement of the breast tissue in men. To relieve his pain and restore his dignity, the doctor recommended a right subcutaneous mastectomy. However, the surgical cost was beyond his financial means.

Usman lived in a small rented house with his six family members. He works at an old age home and his father is a daily wage laborer. Their combined monthly income was insufficient to cover house rent, utility bills, and other living expenses. This surgery was essential for Usman to restore his masculine chest contour and alleviate his physical discomfort. However, due to his financial constraints, he was unable to pay for his surgery. During this time of need, Usman contacted Transparent Hands and asked for help. After learning about his health issue, we promptly registered his case. Through our donors' generosity, we arranged surgery for Usman at one of our panel hospitals

The day of hope arrived and Usman was admitted to Lahore Care Hospital on 9th September 2024. The surgery took place on the same day. Dr. Ahmed Fawad performed the procedure and removed the excess tissue in his right breast. After post-operative care and receiving medications, he was discharged in satisfactory condition on 11th September 2024.

Usman was overwhelmed with happiness and said:
