Muhammad Nisar's Story

Meet Muhammad Nisar, a 56-year-old man from Lahore, who has been experiencing hazy and dim vision. He consulted an ophthalmologist who, after evaluating his condition, recommended that Nisar should undergo the Phaco+ IOL surgery. It will enable him to see the world again.

The Cataract has limited his ability to provide for his family. Nisar lived an independent life before facing this condition. Due to the cataract, he now needs assistance to do routine activities, walk around the home, and navigate the stairs. Nisar’s social life has been significantly impacted and he feels isolated and disappointed.

His family is already facing financial strain and stress. His sons are daily wage laborers and bring in PKR 40,000 per month. They live in a small two-room rented house. With this meager monthly income, they barely cover the cost of the utility bills, rent of the house, and other living expenses. Despite their immense love for Nisar, his sons cannot afford the cost of his essential cataract surgery.

Nisar said in disappointment:

“Losing my vision is like losing my independence. I am afraid to live my remaining life with this visual impairment. I feel helpless as I don’t have enough resources to pay for the surgery. Your generosity will wipe out the darkness from my life.”
