Shad Bibi, a 70-year-old resident of Lahore, has been facing the daunting challenge of a cataract in her right eye for a few months. The cataract has resulted in the symptoms of blurry vision and short-sightedness. Her impaired vision casts a shadow over her day-to-day life, making even the simplest tasks difficult.

She went to a nearby hospital for medical consultation. To address this issue and alleviate her shortsightedness, her doctor recommended right Phaco + Intraocular Lens (IOL) surgery.

However, the family’s financial situation poses a significant obstacle in affording the necessary surgery. Shad Bibi lives in a small 3-marla house along with eight family members. Her son and daughter-in-law work together and earn approximately PKR 50,000 per month. As a result, the financial burden does not allow them to pay for the necessary surgery.

Shah Bibi said in a depressed tone:

“I want to see clearly and experience the world like I used to. It would mean the world to me if I could regain my sight. You can fill my life with vibrant colors.”
