Let’s Give Abdul Qadir the Ability to Hear
Abdul Qadir's Story
Meet Abdul Qadir, a 3-year-old innocent boy from Khairpur, Sindh, who suffers from congenital deafness. He struggles to connect with his surroundings, unable to hear or respond to his parents’ and siblings’ voices. Upon noticing his unresponsiveness to sounds, his parents took him to a nearby hospital. The doctor conducted some medical tests and diagnosed Qadir with congenital sensorineural hearing loss (SNHL) and recommended cochlear implant surgery to open the door to the world of sounds for him. Unfortunately, Qadir’s family cannot afford the cost of the surgery.
Qadir usually remains quiet. If Qadir doesn’t undergo the surgery on time, he might not be able to develop the ability to hear and speak. The earlier he receives the implant, the better his chances of developing the language skills that are so important at his age.
Qadir lives in a two-room mud house with his six family members. His father, the sole provider for the family, is a fisherman and brings in just PKR 30,000 monthly. With this insufficient monthly income, the family struggles to make ends meet. The cost of the surgery is an additional financial strain for them. With hopes in their hearts, Qadir’s parents reached out to Transparent Hands and asked us for help.
Abdul Qadir’s parents said in despair:
“We feel helpless as we can’t pay for his surgery. It hurts us when he struggles to connect while playing with kids. We humbly request you to help our son and bring him out from his world of silence.”
A cochlear implant will allow Qadir to develop the ability to hear and speak, attend school, and experience the beauty of the world around him. With your help, Qadir can grow up to live a happy life and enjoy all the perks of his childhood.
We need your contributions to make this miracle happen. Please donate today and help Qadir hear the world for the very first time. Your contribution can make a meaningful impact on his life.
