Let’s Correct Ali Hassan’s Heart Defects
Ali Hassan's Story
Ali Hassan, a 7-year-old boy from Kasur, has been suffering from shortness of breath and chest discomfort since birth. He frequently experiences falls and episodes of loss of consciousness. Ali is not growing like other children, and his skin develops a concerning bluish tone during physical activities. Ali’s parents took him to a local hospital and they received a consultation from a doctor. After performing a comprehensive examination, the doctor diagnosed Ali with Tetralogy of Fallot (TOF). It is a congenital heart defect that consists of four related heart abnormalities that affect blood flow through the heart. To heal the defects in his heart, the doctor advised open-heart surgery for total correction. Unfortunately, the surgical cost is beyond his family’s financial means.
If Ali doesn’t receive the surgery soon, he may experience life-threatening complications. His condition may also lead to the loss of his life. Ali often sits outside, wondering why he can’t play and grow like his friends. His heart condition is significantly affecting both his emotional and physical well-being.
Ali lives in a small rented house with his parents and five siblings. His father, the sole provider for the family, works as a daily wage laborer and brings in just PKR 32000 per month. This income is insignificant to cover the house rent of PKR 7000, utility bills amounting to PKR 4000, and educational expenses of PKR 2000. The financial strain of Ali’s surgery weighs heavily on the family that struggles to make ends meet. Ali’s parents are distressed that they cannot afford the life-saving treatment their son needs. However, hope emerged when a neighbor told them about Transparent Hands. They quickly reached out to us for assistance.
Ali’s parents said with teary eyes:
“All we want is a healthy life for our son. We can’t see him struggling each day of his life. We ask for your support. Kindly help our son in undergoing the surgery.”
We have registered Ali’s case and we need your contributions to help him survive. Your support can lead him to a healthier future.
Let’s ensure Ali can be free from the limitations of his condition and embrace a joyful and active life.
