Let’s Bring Sounds into Muhammad Saad’s Life

Muhammad Saad's Story
Muhammad Saad, a 3-year-old boy from Muzaffargarh, is unable to hear the sounds around him. Saad is missing out on crucial developmental milestones, including significant delays in developing speech and social skills. Saad can’t communicate even about his basic needs. At his age, when most children start to learn new words and explore the world, Saad is unable to do so. His parents took him to a local hospital and received a consultation from a doctor. After a thorough examination and evaluation, the doctor diagnosed him with congenital sensorineural hearing loss (SNHL). To allow him to hear and speak, the doctor advised cochlear implant surgery. Unfortunately, the cost of the surgery is overwhelming for his family.
His parents are worried about the long-term effects of his condition on his growth and happiness. The sooner he receives the cochlear implant, the better his chances of speech and language development which are important at his age. If he doesn’t undergo the surgery on time, he might not be able to develop the ability to hear and speak.
Saad lives in a small brick house with his parents and two school-going siblings. His father, the sole provider for the family, is a police constable and earns PKR 58000 per month. His monthly income barely covers their utility bills, educational fees, groceries, and other expenses. The family is facing financial hardships and affording to pay for this costly surgery is simply impossible for them. Saad’s parents fear he will grow up in silence, unable to experience the sounds in the world around him. A glimmer of hope arose when a neighbor told them about Transparent Hands. Saad’s family contacted us and asked us to register his case.
They said in a distressed voice:
“Watching him struggle to communicate breaks our hearts. Providing him with the ability to hear and speak would mean the world to us. His surgery is expensive and we don’t have enough money to pay for it. We request you to please give our son the ability to hear.”

Muhammad Saad's Story
Muhammad Saad, a 3-year-old boy from Muzaffargarh, was born into a world of silence. Saad couldn’t even communicate his basic needs. Upon noticing his unresponsiveness to sounds, Saad’s family took him to a local hospital and consulted a doctor. After performing a series of tests, the doctor diagnosed Saad with congenital Sensorineural Hearing Loss (SNHL). The doctor recommended cochlear implant surgery as the only solution for Saad to gain the ability to hear. Unfortunately, his family was unable to pay for his surgery.
Saad lived in a modest house with his parents and two siblings. His father, the sole provider for the family, worked as a police employee and earned PKR 58000 per month. With this modest monthly income, it was extremely hard for them to afford the utility bills as well as grocery expenses. Saad’s parents prayed day and night for a miracle and they were afraid about Saad’s future due to his deafness. The cost of the surgery was beyond their financial reach, leaving them devastated. With no other options, they turned to Transparent Hands for help. We registered Saad’s case and scheduled his surgery.
On 26th November 2024, Saad was admitted to the Evercare Hospital, Lahore. Dr. Imran Saeed successfully inserted the internal component of the cochlear implant. After receiving post-operative care, Saad was discharged in stable condition on 27th November 2024.
In 6 to 8 weeks, the external component of the cochlear implant will be installed, enabling Saad to hear for the first time. Following this, he will begin speech therapy sessions to develop language and communication skills.
His parents shared their happiness as follows: “Seeing Saad respond to sounds is a miracle. Now, he is discovering sounds he never knew existed. This change is incredible. Saad engages with his environment in ways we never thought possible. Thanks for being there for our son!” This life-changing surgery has opened up new opportunities for Saad. He can now experience the world of sounds, bringing hope and joy to his family. Saad’s parents are overwhelmed with gratitude and they are thankful for your generosity and kindness. You truly changed his life.
