Javed Needs Surgery for His Painful Neck Lump
Javed Ali's Story
For the past three years, Javed Ali, a 40-year-old man from Jafarabad, Balochistan, has been living with constant pain and discomfort. A lump at the back of his neck has not only grown in size but has also started causing him frequent pain. It has made it difficult for him to work and provide for his family. When the pain became unbearable, Javed finally visited a doctor. After thorough medical examinations, he was diagnosed with lipoma neck—a benign tumor made of fatty tissue. The doctor advised him to undergo lipoma excision under General Anesthesia (GA) to remove the lump. However, the cost of the surgery is beyond his means.
If left untreated, Javed’s condition may worsen, causing increased pain, inflammation, and potential nerve compression. There is also a risk of it developing into cancer.
Javed earns only PKR 15,000 per month as a driver. With five children to support, including three who are attending school, his expenses far exceed his earnings. He pays PKR 4000 for house rent, PKR 7000 for children’s school fees, and PKR 1200 for utility bills. On top of this, he is struggling with a loan of PKR 120,000, which has further drained his resources. His parents also live with him, relying on his income for survival. Despite working hard to meet his family’s needs, he is unable to save money for his much-needed surgery. Every passing day adds to his suffering, but he has no option other than to bear it.
With a heavy heart, Javed shared his plea as follows:
“I have been suffering from this illness for three years, but now it has become unbearable. I work hard every day just to keep food on the table, but affording this surgery is impossible for me. I humbly ask for your help. Kindly give me a chance to live without pain and be there for my family.”
