Help Zahid Break Free from Pain

Muhammad Zahid's Story
Muhammad Zahid, a 28-year-old resident of Lahore, finds himself in a challenging situation as he battles with excruciating hip pain. His mobility is severely limited, and he relies on support to walk due to painful movements in both hip joints, with the right hip more affected than the left. The cause of his condition is bilateral femoral avascular necrosis (AVN), a condition where the bone tissue in the femoral head deteriorates due to poor blood supply.
After seeking medical advice, Muhammad Zahid underwent x-rays and tests, which confirmed the need for a life-changing procedure: right total hip replacement surgery. This surgery offers hope for relieving his pain and improving his mobility, allowing him to regain independence and a better quality of life.
However, Muhammad Zahid’s financial circumstances add a layer of hardship to his already challenging situation. The hip replacement surgery and associated medical expenses are beyond his means. Because of his condition, he is unable to work and has been unemployed for the past two years. He lives in his uncle’s house with his wife and children, having lost his parents at a young age. His uncle, who is the sole breadwinner of the family, works as a laborer and earns a modest monthly income of approximately PKR 25,000. With the burden of medical bills, household expenses, and the responsibility of supporting his family, his uncle is unable to afford the surgical expenses required for his hip replacement surgery.
Muhammad Zahid pleads, “I want to be free from this constant pain and regain my ability to walk without support. Your support could change my life and give me a chance to provide for my family again.”
Recognising the urgency and significance of his situation, Muhammad Zahid’s family has reached out to Transparent Hands for assistance, and his case has been registered. Your generosity and donations can make a tremendous difference in his life, enabling him to access the medical care he urgently needs to break free from the grip of financial hardship.

Muhammad Zahid's Story
Muhammad Zahid, a 28-year-old resident of Lahore, had been experiencing intense hip pain for the past two years. He was unable to walk without support, making him dependent on others for even minor tasks. After suffering for a while, Zahid decided to consult a specialist. The doctor performed a comprehensive examination and diagnosed him with bilateral Femoral Avascular Necrosis. However, his right hip joint was more symptomatic than the left one; therefore, his doctor advised right Total Hip Replacement (THR) surgery. However, the surgical cost was out of his financial capacity.
Zahid lived a sorrowful life after losing his parents at a young age. Following that tragedy, he moved in with his uncle, where he lived with his wife and children. Due to his inability to walk and stand, Zahid was unemployed. His uncle, the sole breadwinner in the family, worked as a daily wage laborer and made just PKR 25,000 per month. With this meager monthly income, they hardly managed the household expenses. Affording to pay for Zahid’s much-needed surgery was significantly challenging for them. During this difficult time, Zahid contacted Transparent Hands and asked for assistance. Moved by his plea, we registered his case.
On January 14, 2025, Zahid was admitted to the Pakistan Society for Rehabilitation of Differently Abled (PSRD). His surgery was successfully performed by Dr. Saleem on January 15, 2025, giving him new hope and courage. Zahid received essential medicines and post-operative care and was discharged in stable condition on January 17, 2025.
Zahid was overwhelmed with happiness and said with teary eyes:
“I had given up hope, but this surgery changed everything. I can walk without pain, and work again. The happiness I feel is overwhelming. You have given me a life I never thought possible. I am extremely grateful for your generous support.”
Zahid is now healing and taking small yet significant steps towards walking independently. He can now live a healthy and happy life where he no longer needs to rely on others to carry out his daily tasks. His family is incredibly grateful to you for supporting him and changing his life. Your generosity will never be forgotten.
