Help Saba Siddique Overcome Choledocholithiasis
Saba Siddique's Story
Meet Saba Siddique, a 38-year-old woman from Lahore, who has been suffering from severe upper abdominal pain for two years. She also experiences nausea, vomiting, and jaundice, which leaves her bedridden at times. Saba underwent a cholecystectomy in May 2024. Due to her current condition, she consulted a doctor, who, after running some diagnostic tests and an ultrasound scan diagnosed her with choledocholithiasis, which is caused by stones blocking the bile duct. The doctor recommended Endoscopic Retrograde Cholangiopancreatography (ERCP), a medical procedure used to diagnose and treat conditions affecting the bile ducts, pancreatic duct, and gallbladder. However, the cost of the procedure is beyond Saba’s financial reach.
Without the surgery, Saba’s condition will continue to worsen, putting her life at risk. The blockage may lead to severe infections, liver failure, and other serious complications. Saba’s pain has become unbearable, making it difficult for her to take care of her family and manage household chores. Every day, she struggles to keep up with her responsibilities.
Saba lives in a one-room modest house with her two family members. Her husband works long hours as a tailor but brings in just PKR 20,000 monthly. This meager income covers their basic needs only. Affording the costly procedure is overwhelming for Saba’s family, as they are facing financial hardships with no savings at all. During this challenging time, Saba’s family reached out to Transparent Hands and asked us for help. Recognizing the gravity of her situation, we registered her case.
Saba Siddique expressed her heartfelt plea as follows:
“I am scared about my health and want to be well again. My husband is doing everything he can to make ends meet, but the cost of this procedure is far beyond what he can afford. I humbly request you to please help me overcome this sharp pain and discomfort.”
We urge you to help Saba get the much-needed procedure. Your donations will not only change her life but also restore her ability to be there for her family and live a pain-free life. Please donate today and give Saba the chance to return to a healthy life.
Please Note: In certain situations, we proceed with the patient's surgery/medical procedure despite incomplete funding displayed on the website. Hospitals have granted us a grace period for bill payment.

Saba Siddique, a 38-year-old woman from Lahore, had been suffering from upper abdominal pain for two years. Besides this, she also experienced nausea, vomiting, and jaundice, which made her confined to bed occasionally. Concerned about her condition, she went to a nearby hospital and received a consultation from a doctor. After a comprehensive examination and evaluation, the doctor diagnosed her with Cholelithiasis and performed a cholecystectomy to get rid of her symptoms. Her condition did not improve after the surgery and she was investigated further and found to have suffered from Acute Pancreatitis after surgery due to choledocholithiasis.
