Help Saad Hear the World
Muhammad Saad's Story
Muhammad Saad, a 4-year-old boy from Jhelum, has been experiencing hearing loss since birth. However, it wasn’t until he turned two years old that his parents became aware of his condition. Concerned about their son’s well-being, they promptly took him to the nearest hospital, where the doctors recommended cochlear implant surgery as the best course of action. A cochlear implant is a small electronic device that stimulates the cochlear nerve, enabling individuals with hearing loss to perceive sound. The surgery involves both internal and external components, with the external part capturing sounds through a microphone, processing them, and transmitting them to the inner part of the implant.
Muhammad Saad resides in a modest two-room house in a village near Jhelum, along with his parents and five siblings. His father works as a teacher and earns a monthly income of PKR 40,000. As the sole breadwinner of the family, his father faces financial constraints and finds it challenging to meet the surgical expenses. In addition to providing for his family’s daily needs, he is also responsible for utility bills amounting to PKR 6,000 and school fees totaling PKR 5,000.
His father said with teary eyes:
The thought of affording cochlear implant surgery for Saad is scary. Without your help, I fear for my child’s future, and it is heartbreaking to think that he may never hear my voice or respond to his name. Please, help us give Saad the gift of hearing.”
The family’s financial crisis has left them unable to afford the necessary surgical procedure that would greatly improve Muhammad Saad’s quality of life. They have reached out to Transparent Hands, hoping for assistance in realizing their son’s dream of hearing and communicating with the world around him. By lending a helping hand, you can play a pivotal role in enabling Muhammad Saad to unlock the world of sounds and experience the joy of hearing.

Muhammad Saad's Story
Muhammad Saad, a 4-year-old boy from Jhelum, was struggling to hear the sounds around him. His parents noticed his congenital deafness when he turned two. Concerned about his son's health, they received a medical consultation from a local hospital. After a thorough examination, Saad was diagnosed with sensorineural hearing loss. The shocking news shook their world.
Saad's parents wished to see their son prosper and communicate like other children. However, their financial instability became a barrier in Saad's journey to recovery. In this distress, they reached out to Transparent Hands to register their son's case. Considering the impact of a cochlear implant on Saad's quality of life, we promptly registered his case.
With the support of our donors, Saad was admitted to Ali Medical Centre, Islamabad. On 10-06-24, the skilled hands of Dr. Jawad Ahmad successfully installed the internal component of the cochlear implant. The surgery proved to be a resounding success and encouraged him to begin a new chapter of his life. On 11-06-24, overflowing with gratitude, Saad's parents celebrated his discharge from the hospital.
After the successful surgery, the external component of the cochlear implant device was successfully installed. Subsequently, a series of speech therapy sessions commenced to improve his communication.
