Help Naseeb Zar Walk Again With Knee Replacement Surgery
Naseeb Zar's Story
Naseeb Zar, a 74-year-old man from Batgram, KPK, has been experiencing severe knee pain and discomfort for many years. The condition has taken away his ability to perform daily chores. He can’t walk independently and has to depend on his family for even minor tasks. Concerned about his condition, he consulted a doctor who advised some diagnostic tests, including an X-Ray. The doctor diagnosed him with Osteoarthritis of the right knee. Osteoarthritis is a condition that causes the knee cartilage to break down. The bones rub together and create friction. It causes intense pain and limits a person’s ability to walk.
The doctor has suggested Total Knee Replacement Surgery for Naseeb, which can relieve his pain and restore his mobility. Naseeb desperately wants to undergo the surgery but the cost of the surgery is overwhelming for him. Due to his unfortunate condition, Naseeb cannot provide for his family. He has three sons who work hard but still only manage to earn PKR 42,000 per month. Their monthly utility bills amount to PKR 5,000 and they barely have enough money to cover their basic needs. They live in a mud house with four rooms. Due to financial constraints, they can’t afford to pay for the surgery.
With hopes in their heart, his family contacted Transparent Hands and asked for financial assistance.
Naseeb expressed his plea as follows:
“I want to get rid of this severe pain caused by my knee joint. I feel helpless, as I can’t pay for my costly knee surgery. I want to spend the remaining years of my life with independence. Please help me!”

Naseeb Zar's Story
Naseeb Zar, a 74-year-old from Batgram, KPK, had been suffering from left knee pain for many years. His ability to engage in routine activities was significantly affected, leading to a sedentary lifestyle. Activities like standing, walking, and maintaining balance became impossible for him, causing increased pain and risk of falls. Concerned about his condition, he consulted a doctor, who performed an x-ray and some medical tests and diagnosed Naseeb with osteoarthritis of the left knee. To restore his mobility and prevent further complications, the doctor recommended left total knee replacement surgery.
However, Naseeb didn’t have enough money to pay for the surgery. Naseeb was a pillar of strength for his family and lived an independent life but his knee condition made him dependent on others for performing even basic tasks. He has three sons: one is an Iman in a Mosque and the other two are factory employees. The family’s monthly income is insufficient to even cover their basic needs. In such an unfortunate situation, they had no option left other than to reach out to Transparent Hands and ask for help. Recognizing the gravity of his situation, we promptly registered his case.
On 11th August 2024, Naseeb was admitted to Zia Darman Hospital, Mardan. The surgery took place on 13th August 2024. Naseeb’s left total knee replacement surgery was performed by an experienced surgeon, Dr. Aimen Zia, and her medical team. After receiving post-operative care and essential medications, Naseeb was discharged from the hospital with new hope and determination on 14th August 2024. Naseeb Zar said with tears in his eyes:
“Before surgery, every night was restless, and I felt so drained. With your help, I found healing, hope, and courage. I’m grateful for this chance. My new life has begun. I can’t forget your generosity.”
The successful knee replacement surgery lifted his spirits and provided healing. Now, he doesn’t need to depend on others and can spend the golden years of his life with independence. Naseeb and his family are extending their heartfelt gratitude to you for contributing to his surgery and alleviating his pain.
