Help Mishal Hear for the First Time
Mishal Aqeel's Story
Meet Mishal Aqeel, a 2-year-old girl from Rajanpur, who hasn’t been able to hear since birth. Responding to her name and hearing the sounds of noisy toys are beyond her capabilities. Concerned about her condition, her parents took her to a nearby hospital and received medical attention. After performing a thorough examination, the doctor diagnosed her with congenital sensorineural hearing loss and advised cochlear implant surgery. However, Mishal’s family is unable to pay for the surgery.
If she doesn’t undergo the surgery on time, she might not be able to develop the ability to hear and speak. The sooner she receives the cochlear implant, the better her chances of speech and language development which are important at her age. Over time, her inability to hear may isolate her from society and limit her opportunities for an independent future. Early intervention is essential to give Mishal the best chance at a normal life.
Mishal lives in a small house with her parents and two siblings. Her father, the sole breadwinner in the family, is a police employee and earns PKR 60,000 per month. This income just covers their household expenses. The cost of Mishal’s much-needed surgery is too high for them to afford. The financial burden has left them feeling helpless and afraid for their daughter’s future. A well-wisher told them about Transparent Hands and Mishal’s family contacted us for help.
Mishal’s parents expressed their plea as follows:
“Mishal is a bright child who lights up our lives with her smile. But she lives in a silent world. We want her to hear our voices, to call us by name, and to live a normal life. We can’t afford her surgery. Please help us give her the chance to hear and speak.”
Your generosity can change Mishal’s life and open the doors to the world of sounds and endless possibilities. Together, we can ensure that Mishal grows up without limitations.
Let’s join hands to bring sounds into Mishal’s world. Your support can change her life forever.
