Ijaz Ahmed's Story

Meet Ijaz Ahmed, a 55-year-old man from Lahore, who recently lost his left leg due to diabetes. He had an infection in the leg due to diabetes, which led the doctors to amputate his left leg below the knee. The amputation left him in extreme despair. He longs to regain the mobility and independence he once had in life. Ijaz consulted with a doctor, who recommended a Below-Knee Prosthesis for his lost limb.

Without a prosthesis, Ijaz has to rely upon his family for even the simplest tasks. Ijaz Ahmed wishes to go back to the time when he used to walk in the garden with his friends. The condition has badly affected his mental health, making him disappointed and isolated. Due to his disability, Ijaz is unable to provide for his family. He lives in a 3-marla brick house with his wife and four children. His wife works in a school canteen and makes PKR 15000 per month. With this meager monthly income, they hardly cover the cost of utility bills amounting to PKR 8000. The family is also dealing with a loan of PKR 30,000, making the needed cost of the surgery unaffordable.

In this time of uncertainty, Ijaz’s family reached out to Transparent Hands and requested financial support.

Ijaz expressed his grief as follows:

“I miss the time when I was able to provide for my children. All I want is to stand on my feet and not be a burden on my family. The loss of my limb means loss of independence. I request all the donors to please support me. The artificial leg will change my life.”

We have processed Ijaz’s case and aim to help him regain his mobility. We need your support to fulfill his dream of walking independently. The below-knee prosthesis will enable him to stand on his feet and provide for his family. Join us in our mission to bring back hope to Ijaz Ahmed’s life. Every contribution will make a difference!
