Help Farhana Anjum Find Relief
Farhana Anjum's Story
Farhana Anjum, a 44-year-old resident of Karachi, is a housewife and mother of three children. Her husband works as a laborer, and they live in a rented house. Their combined income is around PKR 25,000 per month, which barely covers their basic expenses. Unfortunately, Farhana has been experiencing episodes of upper abdominal pain for the past four months, which have severely impacted her daily life.
Initially, Farhana visited a local clinic for a check-up, hoping to find relief from her pain. The doctor prescribed painkillers, but they provided only temporary relief and did not address the underlying cause. Worried about her condition, Farhana sought a second opinion and underwent several diagnostic tests at another hospital. The results revealed that she has gallstones, a condition known as cholelithiasis.
The doctor advised Farhana to undergo laparoscopic cholecystectomy, a surgical procedure to remove the gallbladder containing the stones. Without treatment, the gallstones can lead to complications such as bile duct obstruction or severe infections affecting the bile ducts, pancreas, or liver. However, the cost of the surgery is beyond Farhana’s financial means, and she cannot afford the expenses associated with it.
Farhana’s health issues have taken a toll on her physical well-being and ability to fulfill her responsibilities as a mother and wife. The constant pain and discomfort make it challenging for her to carry out household chores and take care of her children. Moreover, her husband’s income is not sufficient to cover the surgical expenses.
In her distress, Farhana expresses her concerns, saying,
“The abdominal pain and discomfort are affecting my daily life and ability to care for my family. We are already struggling financially, and I cannot bear the burden of expensive medical bills. Please, I humbly request your generous donations to support my surgery and help me get rid of the gallstones.”
