But Basam and his family were determined to overcome this obstacle and sought the help of medical experts at the Institute of Medical Sciences in Gambat.
On a significant day, the 7th of December 2023, Basam was admitted to the hospital in anticipation of a life-altering surgical procedure. Under the skilled guidance of Dr. Maqbool Ahmed, a highly respected surgeon, Basam underwent a groundbreaking right-sided cochlear implant surgery. This innovative procedure utilized a cochlear implant, specifically designed to restore hearing function in individuals with severe hearing loss.
The surgery was a resounding success, bringing a glimmer of hope to Basam and his loved ones. After a brief period of recovery, Basam was discharged from the hospital on the 8th of December 2023, with a satisfactory condition and renewed optimism for a vibrant future filled with the wonders of sound.

Four weeks after the initial surgery, an external component of the cochlear implant was installed, further enhancing his ability to perceive sound.
