Asma Haroon's Story

Asma Haroon, a 47-year-old resident of Sheikhupura, has been suffering from a serious and severe medical ailment that has put her in unbearable agony all the time. Asma has been suffering from severe upper abdominal discomfort for the last two months, and although she has received symptomatic therapy, the pain has only become worse with time.

Determining to find a cure, Asma went to a doctor. Following a comprehensive examination that included tests and an ultrasound, the doctor advised that she have an open cholecystectomy, a crucial surgical procedure that addresses the underlying cause of her serious health condition. Asma’s family is having a difficult time paying for the essential medical care because of a serious financial issue. Asma is a dedicated homemaker, and living in a two-Marla house in a village near Sheikhupura with joint family of six members.

Her husband is the only bread winner in the family and earning only 30,000 PKR per month, provides all financial support for their family of six. Asma’s husband said it in a depressed tone:

“Our family’s financial situation is extremely challenging. We hardly have enough money for our daily expenses. We are at a lost as to how to provide surgical intervention to my beloved my wife.”

Her pain will only worsen if the required surgical intervention is not received. This loving mother and woman, who has given her entire life to her family, is in a dire situation and is depending on the goodwill and compassion of donors to get the necessary surgery. Your kind assistance might mean the world to Asma Haroon in her struggle to survive.

No matter how little you are able to give, it will help Asma’s family by easing some of the financial strain and ensuring she gets the much-needed open cholecystectomy she needs to get well.
