Help Ajmal Overcome Osteoarthritis
Ajmal Khan's Story
Ajmal Khan, a 74-year-old man from Mardan, has been suffering from pain and swelling in his right knee joint for a long time. Simple activities like walking and climbing stairs have become significantly challenging for him. Concerned about his condition, he went to a local hospital and consulted a doctor, who performed an X-ray and some lab tests and diagnosed Ajmal with osteoarthritis of the right knee joint. It is a degenerative joint disease that occurs when the cartilage in joints breaks down. To help him overcome the severe joint disease, the doctor has advised the right Total Knee Replacement (TKR) surgery. However, the cost of the surgery is out of his financial reach.
Without this surgery, he may become completely unable to stand, sit, and walk. Moreover, it may cause joint deformity and further cartilage damage. The thought of losing his ability to move freely scares Ajmal. The pain already consumes his energy, leaving him exhausted and hopeless.
Ajmal lives in a modest home with his wife. Due to his old age and illness, he is unemployed. His only source of support is his son, who lives separately and sends him some money to manage living expenses. However, his son’s income is just enough to cover daily necessities, leaving no room for expensive medical treatments. The weight of financial struggles combined with his worsening health has left Ajmal feeling hopeless. With nowhere else to turn, Ajmal has reached out to Transparent Hands for help.
With teary eyes, he said:
“I have spent my life taking care of my family, but now, I am unable to even take care of myself. The pain is unbearable, and my biggest fear is losing my ability to live independently. I just want to walk again without pain. Please help me undergo this surgery so I can live my remaining years with dignity.”
Ajmal’s life does not have to be filled with pain and limitations. With your donations, he can receive the surgery that will help him regain his mobility and independence.
