For 12-year-old Bilal from Quetta, every breath is a struggle. Since birth, he has been experiencing persistent shortness of breath and chest discomfort, making even the simplest activities challenging. Unlike other children of his age who run and play without any issues, Bilal often finds himself gasping for air, unable to keep up. A recent medical follow-up and some diagnostic tests revealed the heartbreaking truth: Bilal is suffering from Pulmonary Hypertension, Ventricular Septal Defect (VSD), and Left Ventricular Outflow Tract Obstruction (LVOTO). His doctor has advised VSD closure surgery to treat this issue. However, this life-saving surgery is out of his family’s financial reach.

If Bilal does not undergo surgery soon, his condition may continue to worsen. His heart is already working harder than it should, and without intervention, the risks of severe complications such as heart failure may increase. The pain and breathlessness he experiences will only intensify, making daily life even more difficult.

Bilal lives in a modest rented house with his parents and a younger sibling. His father, the sole breadwinner of the family, works as a laborer and earns only PKR 35,000 per month. After paying PKR 10,000 for house rent and PKR 2000 for utility bills, the family is left with barely enough to cover their daily expenses. On top of this, they are burdened with a loan of PKR 150,000, making it impossible for them to afford Bilal’s surgery. During this challenging time, Bilal’s family reached out to Transparent Hands and asked for help.

With a heavy heart, Bilal’s mother pleads:
