Give Muhammad Hanif the Gift of Clear Vision
Muhammad Hanif's Story
Muhammad Hanif, a 71-year-old man from Lahore, is suffering from short-sightedness, and blurry, and dim vision. He consulted a doctor and was diagnosed with a cataract in his right eye. His quality of life is severely affected by the limitations caused by his cataract. Hanif faces difficulty in seeing in bright and low-light environments. Moreover, his deteriorating vision has affected his color perception and they seem less vibrant to him. During the early stages, the cataract had a minimal effect on his sight. Over time, the condition progressed and limited his ability to carry out routine tasks. Despite his impaired vision and old age, Hanif is still determined and spirited. His doctor has recommended Phaco + IOL surgery to restore his vision, but he’s unable to pay for the surgery.
Hanif, a sole provider for the family, works as a daily wage laborer and makes just PKR 20,000 monthly. Living in a two-room brick house with his family, he barely makes ends meet. Hanif deserves to enjoy the golden years of his life with independence. Unfortunately, his financial constraints prevent him from getting the recommended eye surgery.
Muhammad Hanif described his grief as follows:
“I feel disconnected from the world around me. I want to spend quality time with my friends like I used to. My impaired vision has made me dependent on others and I often feel hopeless. I work hard at this age but am still unable to pay for the surgery. Please help me in this time of need and let me spend the remaining years of my life with independence.”
Transparent Hands stepped in to help Hanif as soon as possible. The necessary cataract surgery will improve his overall well-being and quality of life, enabling them to engage more fully in his community. Your contributions will enable him to navigate the beauty of the world again.
Let’s unite to support Hanif and let him spend his life with independence.

Muhammad Hanif's Story
Muhammad Hanif, a 71-year-old man from Lahore, was suffering from short-sightedness and blurry vision. Upon consultation with a doctor, he was diagnosed with a cataract in his right eye. To restore his vision, the doctor recommended Phaco+IOL surgery. However, affording the cost of the surgery was beyond his financial abilities as he was already facing financial hardships. His family has a meager monthly income and they live in a modest home.
Hanif’s life was badly affected by his visual impairment. He used to bump into things while walking and carrying out routine tasks became significantly challenging. He desperately needed the surgery but was unable to pay for it. If left untreated, the cataract could have become worse and increased the risk of glaucoma and even blindness. During this time of need, he contacted Transparent Hands and asked us for help. After listening to his concerns, we promptly registered the case.
On 20th August 2024, he underwent right Phaco + IOL surgery by Dr. Shaheer at Life Hospital, Lahore. After the surgery, he couldn’t believe how bright and clear everything appeared to him.
He expressed deep gratitude, and said, “Thank you for giving me back the ability to see the world. It’s nothing short of a miracle.”
