Give Haju a Chance to Live Without Gallbladder Pain
Haju Jumman's Story
Haju, a 43-year-old woman from Hyderabad, has been experiencing persistent pain in her right upper abdomen for eight years. Alongside this, she suffers from nausea and indigestion which worsen after meals and leave her feeling weak and drained. Unable to bear the discomfort any longer, Haju consulted a doctor who diagnosed her with Cholelithiasis – the formation of painful gallstones in her gallbladder. Her doctor has recommended laparoscopic cholecystectomy, a surgery to remove the gallbladder and provide permanent relief. Unfortunately, the cost of the surgery is far beyond her financial means.
If Haju’s condition is left untreated, her health may keep getting worse because of her poor diet. Additionally, ongoing medications will upset her stomach, preventing her from enjoying healthy meals.
Haju’s life is filled with challenges. Her husband is physically disabled and unable to work, leaving the family with no regular source of income. They rely on financial assistance from relatives, which amounts to PKR 20,000 per month—barely enough to cover their basic needs. The house provided to them by the Government of Sindh is a semi-constructed one where they live under makeshift arrangements. Haju has two daughters, one of whom is currently attending school. Despite her pain, she struggles to care for her family in these harsh living conditions. During this time of need, Haju contacted Transparent Hands and asked for assistance.
Haju said with teary eyes:
“The pain has taken over my life. I can’t look after my daughter and perform daily tasks the way I want to. I feel like a burden, and this helplessness is unbearable. Please help me get this surgery so I can live a healthy life again.”
Through your generosity, Haju can undergo the much-needed surgery to reclaim her health and dignity. Together, we can relieve her pain, restore her strength, and bring hope back into her life. Let’s work together to make a difference for Haju and her family.
