Give for Khadija’s Cardiac Surgery
Khadija Zafar 's Story
Khadija has been suffering from a deadly congenital heart condition. She needs to undergo cardiac surgery, but her father is unable to pay for this expensive treatment. Your kindness can give her a better future. Your generous donation will unlock Khadija’s gift of life, allowing her to enjoy life and pursue her dreams. We urge you to give for Khadija’s cardiac surgery as much as you can.
Four-year-old Khadija, a resident of Bahawalpur, was born with Atrial Septal Defect (ASD). ASD is a hole between the heart’s upper chambers (atria). She experiences shortness of breath upon mild exertion, nausea, and vomiting. She is also unable to gain weight. Her mother learned about this condition when she was a year old. After evaluation and running some diagnostic tests, the doctor advised open-heart surgery for ASD Closure.
She lives with her parents and one sibling in a rented house. Her father is the sole earner in the family and earns PKR 20,000 per month. He hardly manages household expenses. With this meager income, he cannot pay for the costly cardiac surgery.
Her father expressed his grief with the following words:
“She is my entire universe. She reminds me of a tender flower. I can not bear to see her in such distress. I want her to grow and fulfill all her dreams. Kindly support her much-needed surgery.”
Someone referred her family to Transparent Hands, and we have registered her case. We have assured her family that we will provide their daughter with the necessary treatment. Your donations will give her the gift of life and the opportunity to pursue her dreams. Your donation can make a significant difference in saving his heart and extending her life. Khadija Zafar 's Story
Four-year-old Khadija Zafar, a resident of Bahawalpur, was born with a congenital condition known as Atrial Septal Defect (ASD), characterized by a hole between the atria of her heart. This condition has resulted in Khadija experiencing symptoms such as shortness of breath, nausea, vomiting, and inadequate weight gain. While her diagnosis was made when she reached the age of one, the recommended course of action involved open-heart surgery to close the ASD, a procedure beyond the financial means of her family.
In a quest for assistance, Khadija's family sought the support of Transparent Hands and requested our help, ensuring the urgency of the essential surgery she required. Consequently, Khadija was admitted to the University of Lahore Teaching Hospital, where the operation was expertly performed by Dr. Faiz Rasool on 3-08-2023.
Subsequent to the surgery, Khadija's recovery displayed notable progress. The closure of the ASD proved to be a transformative milestone, alleviating her distressing symptoms and facilitating improved well-being.
Following a brief hospital stay of two days, Khadija was discharged. With the support of the Pakistan Children's Heart Foundation and other generous donors, Khadija's life-changing surgery became a reality.
