Aqsa Arshad, a 30-year-old woman from Lahore, has been experiencing constant pain in her right upper abdomen for the past two months. She received some symptomatic treatment after consulting local doctors but only found temporary relief. She consulted another doctor, who diagnosed her with gallbladder stones. Her doctor has advised her to undergo open cholecystectomy. It’s a surgical intervention to remove the gallbladder. Unfortunately, the cost of the surgery is beyond Aqsa’s financial means.

Aqsa lives in a 3-marla rented house with her husband and two children. Her husband is a daily wager and earns just PKR 30,000 per month. Aqsa’s husband is the only breadwinner in the family.
