Give Anabia Fatima a Second Chance at Life
Anabia Fatima's Story
Anabia Fatima, a one-year-old girl from Lahore, has been experiencing breathlessness and cyanosis since birth. Her parents, concerned about her condition, received a medical consultation. The cardiac surgeon diagnosed her with TOF (Tetralogy of Fallot). TOF is characterized by four congenital heart defects, making it difficult for her heart to pump blood properly. The condition causes her to tire easily and she is unable to gain weight.
Recognizing the urgency of the situation, the doctor has advised open-heart surgery for total correction. There is a significant barrier on her path toward recovery – financial constraints. Anabia’s father works as a carpenter in a factory and earns PKR 25,000 per month. Living in a 2-marla rented brick house, they hardly make ends meet. With his meager monthly income, paying PKR 9000 for rent and utility bills amounting to around PKR 1500 per month is an additional challenge. Affording the cost of the surgery is beyond their financial means.
Anabia’s father said in despair:
“Every day is a battle for Anabia. She deserves to live a normal life like other kids. We are desperate to see her healthy but we cannot afford the surgery that will save her life. Kindly support us in this time of need.”
Anabia’s parents wish to see their daughter breathe properly and live a life free from struggles. Her family contacted Transparent Hands to register her case.

Anabia Fatima's Story
Anabia Fatima, a 1-year-old girl from Lahore, had been struggling with breathlessness and cyanosis since birth. Her parents were heartbroken to see her tire so quickly and fail to gain weight. Concerned about her worsening condition, they consulted a doctor. After performing a thorough examination, the doctor diagnosed her with Tetralogy of Fallot (TOF), a complex congenital defect that impairs the heart’s ability to pump blood effectively. The doctor recommended an open-heart surgery for total correction to save her life. Unfortunately, the cost of the surgery was overwhelming for Anabia’s family.
Living in a small rented brick house, Anabia’s family hardly made ends meet. Anabia’s father worked as a carpenter in a factory and earned PKR 25,000 per month. With this insufficient monthly income, it was already challenging to cover the house rent, utility bills as well as groceries expenses. The cost of surgery was far beyond their means, leaving the family in despair. Determined to save their daughter, they reached out to Transparent Hands for help. After reviewing her case, we ensured that Anabia would receive the treatment she needed.
On November 15, 2024, Anabia was admitted to the University of Lahore Teaching Hospital. The next day, Dr. Faiz Rasool performed her surgery, successfully corrected her heart defects, and restored proper blood flow. She remained in the hospital for five days, receiving post-operative care. On November 21, 2024, Anabia was discharged in stable condition from the hospital.
Anabia’s parents shared their gratitude by saying:
“We were scared for our daughter’s future, but now, she is recovering well. Thank you for giving her a chance to live a healthy and happy life. We will never forget your kindness.”
Anabia is now on her path to recovery. Her parents are overjoyed to see her breathing easily and gaining weight. This change was made possible by your generous support. Anabia’s family extends their deepest gratitude for your help in giving her a healthier future.
