Ajwa Bibi's Story

Ajwa Bibi is a two-year-old girl from Swat who is grappling with hearing loss. Her parents discovered her condition when she turned one, prompting them to seek medical help at the nearest hospital. After undergoing diagnostic tests, the doctor recommended a hearing device as a potential solution. However, due to financial constraints, they were unable to afford it. Now, with the hope of restoring Ajwa’s hearing, the doctor has advised them to consider cochlear implant surgery.

Ajwa’s father is a devoted Masjid Imam, but his modest income barely covers the family’s day-to-day expenses. Consequently, he finds himself unable to meet the high cost of the surgery.

“Ajwa’s father shares his anguish, saying, “I watch my precious daughter struggle with her inability to hear, and the weight of our financial limitations leaves me feeling helpless.”

Ajwa’s journey has been marked by the absence of sound, depriving her of the simple joys of childhood and hindering her ability to connect with the world around her. Her parents have witnessed the frustration and isolation she experiences every day, and it breaks their hearts. Ajwa’s laughter should fill the air, resonating with the love and warmth of her family, but instead, it remains silent.

In their search for a lifeline, Ajwa’s family turns to Transparent Hands. Together, we can rewrite Ajwa’s story and grant her the gift of hearing. Your support and generous donations can transform her world, allowing her to experience the symphony of life and connect with her loved ones on a deeper level.

But with your help, we can make a difference. Your contribution to this campaign can be a ray of hope for Ajwa, guiding her toward a future filled with brightness and possibilities. Let us come together, hand in hand, and give her the chance to hear the melodies of life. Your compassion and generosity can turn her silent world into a symphony of sound, full of laughter, love, and endless possibilities.

Ajwa Bibi's Story

Ajwa Bibi, a 3-year-old girl from Swat, had been living in a world of silence since birth. Upon medical consultation with a nearby doctor, she was diagnosed with congenital sensorineural hearing loss. After a comprehensive examination and evaluation, the doctor recommended cochlear implant surgery.

Ajwa’s parents were heartbroken to see their daughter struggling to hear the voices of the people around her. Ajwa couldn’t respond to voices like other kids of her age. Her family was already facing financial hardships and couldn’t pay for the expensive cochlear impact surgery with their meager income. Ajwa’s family reached out to Transparent Hands and we registered her case. The day her family had been looking forward to arrived, and she was admitted to Ali Medical Centre, Islamabad. On 27-05-2024, a skilled surgeon, Dr. Jawad Ahmed successfully fitted the internal component of the cochlear implant, igniting a newfound hope in Ajwa’s heart. On 28-05-2024, her family celebrated her discharge from the hospital to embrace a new chapter of life. After six weeks, the external component of the cochlear implant was carefully fitted, followed by regular speech therapy sessions. These sessions are crucial for improving her ability to hear and speak. Ajwa’s father expressed his happiness as follows: “Every day, I hoped for a miracle. Now, my daughter can finally explore the world like other kids. Everybody in my family is celebrating this change in my daughter’s life. I am grateful to Transparent Hands and all donors.”

This transformative journey serves as a testament to the power and impact of your donations. She is continuously learning new words and enjoying her speech therapy sessions. We are thankful to all donors who helped us in achieving this milestone.
