Habiba Komal Khalid's Story
Habiba Komal Khalid, a 15-year-old resident of Multan, has been facing a daunting health challenge that has significantly impacted her quality of life. For the past six months, Habiba has been struggling with a cataract in her right eye, causing her extreme difficulty in sight and hindering her daily activities.
Habiba’s condition was first noticed by her teachers at school, who had observed her struggling with her vision for the past two years. Upon examination by a doctor, Habiba was diagnosed with a congenital eye problem. The doctor has advised Habiba to undergo a (R) Phaco IOL procedure to address the cataract and restore her vision.
Habiba’s family, however, faces significant financial constraints that make accessing the necessary medical care a daunting task. Her father, who works as an Imam, earns a monthly income of approximately PKR 20,000. This modest sum is the sole source of support for the family, which includes Habiba, her two brothers, and the monthly rent of PKR 6,000 for their rented house.
Adding to the family’s financial burden, they are also responsible for utility bills of PKR 5,000 and an outstanding loan of PKR 600,000. With such limited resources, Habiba’s father is unable to afford the cost of the recommended procedure, leaving Habiba in a state of uncertainty and concern for her future.
In this time of need, Habiba’s family reached out to Transparent Hands. Habiba, with a heavy heart, appeals to the community for support: “I humbly request your kindness and generosity to help me undergo the necessary procedure. Your contribution can restore my vision and allow me to continue my studies and pursue my dreams without the burden of this debilitating condition.”
By contributing to Habiba’s eye surgery, we can help ease the financial stress on her family and ensure that she receives the treatment she requires. Let us come together as a community and make a tangible difference in Habiba khalid’s life.

Following the surgery/medical procedure, we persist in collecting funds and maintain the campaign on the website until funding is secured in full. Habiba Komal Khalid's Story
Habiba Komal, a 15-year-old girl from Multan, was suffering due to developmental cataract. The problem had been causing blurry vision and disorientation. Habiba experienced difficulties carrying out her routine activities. To make matters worse, she also had a thyroid problem. As she grew older, she felt more confined to her house. It became increasingly hard for her to enjoy a normal life and she often wondered how life would be with a clearer vision. Habiba has two brothers, and both of them suffer from similar medical conditions.
Habiba’s father, Hafiz Khalid Mehmood, is the sole breadwinner in the family and works as an Imam at a local mosque. He earns only PKR 20,000 per month. The family does not own a house. They live in a rented house and pay PKR 6,000 per month in rent. Additionally, they spend PKR 5,000 on utility bills. They could afford to spend on medical expenses.
After the initial consultation with doctors, Habiba was advised to undergo Phaco + IOL surgery. Since her family lacked the financial means to support her surgery, they were worried about Habiba’s future. However, her family became hopeful after someone told them about Transparent Hands. They reached out to us and we registered her case.
After the completion of the due processes, Transparent Hands arranged a surgery for Habiba. The procedure was successfully performed at the Bakhtawar Amin Medical & Dental College by Dr. Sadaqat Ali on 16-09-2024. She was discharged after a successful operation.
Habiba can now see clearly. With a clearer vision, she has started to enjoy her life better. Habiba’s family is also extremely grateful for the support. They appreciate the efforts of Transparent Hands and said, “We will always remember how the generosity of kind donors changed our daughter’s life. Today, she can see clearly because of you. We can’t thank you enough.”
Habiba looks forward to living her life to the fullest now.
