Six-year-old Famia Zaman, a resident of Lahore, has had sensorineural hearing loss since birth. Her cochlear implant surgery was performed with the help of Transparent Hands a few months ago. The doctor advised her to take speech therapy sessions, so she could hear and interact with people effectively. These sessions are crucial for her development; without them, she may find it difficult to learn the social and communication skills she needs to succeed in the world. 

She lives with her parents and one sibling. Her father earns PKR 30,000 per month. As the family’s sole earner, her father cannot afford the cost of speech therapy sessions. He said in a depressed tone:
