Ensure a Safe Delivery for Afshan
Afshan Hamza's Story
Afshan, a 26-year-old woman from Karachi, is in the 37th week of her pregnancy and eagerly waiting to hold her baby in her arms soon. However, Afshan was concerned due to her history of one previous C-section. She went to a local hospital to consult a doctor who advised an elective C-section. The joy of welcoming a new life has turned into worry as the cost of the C-section is out of her family’s reach.
If Afshan does not undergo the C-section, both her and her baby’s life will be at significant risk. She may face severe complications such as uterine rupture, severe bleeding, and distress for the baby. Delaying or avoiding the procedure may result in life-threatening situations for both Afshan and her child.
Afshan lives in a modest rented home with her husband and one child. Her husband works in a private company, earning a monthly income of PKR 37,000. With this meager monthly income, they hardly cover house rent of PKR 8000 and utility bills amounting to PKR 4000 each month. Despite working hard to provide for their family, his earnings barely cover their living expenses, leaving no room for medical costs. With Afshan’s due date approaching, they are under immense emotional and financial stress. During this time of need, Afshan turned to Transparent Hands and asked for help. Afshan expressed her concerns with tearful eyes as follows:
“I am worried about my baby’s safety. My husband is doing everything he can, but we just can’t afford the surgery. I want my baby to come into this world safely, and I need your support to make that possible. Please help me.”
Afshan desperately needs your support to safely deliver her baby. This is supposed to be the happiest time of her life, but instead, Afshan is overwhelmed with fear.
Your donations can help this family experience the joy of welcoming their baby. Let’s work together to provide hope and happiness to Afshan during this time of need.
