Enable Zoha to Speak Like Other Children
Zoha Fatima's Story
Zoha Fatima, a 4-year-old girl from Faisalabad, can’t recognize sounds and is unable to speak. Since birth, Zoha had been living in a world of silence. After visiting a doctor, Zoha underwent various medical tests and was diagnosed with congenital sensorineural hearing loss. With the support of Transparent Hands, Zoha underwent cochlear implant surgery in December 2024. Zoha’s surgery was successful, enabling her to hear the sounds around her. However, Zoha is unfamiliar with sounds and she can’t differentiate between sounds, voices, and emotions. Therefore, her doctor advised her to receive speech therapy sessions. Unfortunately, the cost of the treatment is overwhelming for her family.
If her condition is left untreated, Zoha may struggle to develop language skills, face difficulties in learning, and experience social isolation. Moreover, she may miss the critical period for speech development, making it difficult for her to interact with the world around her.
Zoha lives in a modest house with her parents and three other family members. Her father, the sole breadwinner in the family, works as a police employee. His monthly income is insufficient to cover their utility bills, food, and other living expenses. Zoha’s parents wish to see her grow and thrive in life, but their financial constraints don’t allow them to give her the ability to communicate. With no additional financial support, affording speech therapy sessions is beyond their reach. During this challenging time, Zoha turned to Transparent Hands and asked for assistance.
Zoha’s parents said in despair:
“Our daughter struggles to speak clearly, and it breaks our hearts to see her in this condition. The doctor has recommended speech therapy, but we simply cannot afford it. We request you to please help our daughter in receiving speech therapy sessions.”
Zoha dreams of expressing herself, but speech difficulties hold her back. Her parents are heartbroken as they cannot afford the therapy sessions. With your support, we can provide her with professional speech therapy sessions for a year and help her communicate with confidence.
Your donation can change her future. Please contribute today and give her the voice she deserves!
