Enable Rohan to Hear Sounds and Voices

Muhammad Rohan's Story

Muhammad Rohan, a 5-year-old boy from Gujrat, is unable to hear the sounds around him. At an age when most children are exploring different sounds and words, Rohan can’t even express his basic needs. As a student, he faces immense challenges. Hoping to find a solution, his parents took him to a local hospital. After a detailed medical evaluation, the doctor diagnosed him with congenital Sensorineural Hearing Loss (SNHL). To treat this issue, his doctor has advised cochlear implant surgery. Unfortunately, the cost of the surgery is out of his family’s reach.

If Rohan does not receive the cochlear implant soon, his condition may become even more difficult to manage. Delayed intervention will significantly affect his speech and language development. 

Rohan lives in a modest house with his six family members. His father, a dedicated police employee, is the only breadwinner in the family. Despite working hard to provide for their needs, his monthly salary is just enough to cover household expenses, including utility bills, and his children’s educational needs. Saving for such a costly procedure is simply not possible.

Rohan’s family shared their deepest concern with us as follows:

“Our hearts break every time we see him struggle to understand the world around him. He doesn’t respond to our voices or recognize the sounds around him. All we want is for him to hear us, to speak his first words, and to live a life like other children. Kindly help us.”
