Enable Rizwan to Walk Again With an Artificial Leg
Muhammad Rizwan's Story
Muhammad Rizwan, a 25-year-old man from Okara, was living happily until a tragic incident changed his life forever. Just a few years ago, he was involved in a severe road accident in which his right leg was crushed badly below the knee. His family took him to the nearby hospital. Despite the doctors’ best efforts, his right leg had to be amputated below the knee. Now, Rizwan faces a future filled with uncertainty, struggling to adjust to life without a limb. He consulted a doctor about his current condition. The doctor advised a below-knee prosthesis to regain his mobility and independence. However, Rizwan’s family cannot afford the costly artificial limb.
Rizwan is confined to a wheelchair and is unable to walk, work, or engage in the activities he once loved. Simple tasks like moving around the house and getting in and out of bed have become significantly challenging. A below-knee prosthesis is not just a medical device for Rizwan—it is his key to reclaiming his life. With a prosthetic limb, Rizwan will be able to walk again, return to work, and take care of himself and his family.
Rizwan lives in a modest brick house with his wife, two children, and parents. His father is a daily wage laborer and makes just PKR 30,000 monthly. With utility bills of PKR 2000, in addition to the educational expenses of PKR 4000, affording the cost of the prosthesis is impossible for them. During this time of need, Rizwan’s family contacted Transparent Hands and asked for help.
Rizwan says, his eyes filled with hope.
“It’s hard to accept that I can’t do the things I used to do. I just want to walk again and stand on my own two feet. This artificial limb is my only hope for a normal life. Please help me.”

Muhammad Rizwan's Story
Muhammad Rizwan, a 25-year-old man from Okara, experienced a tragic incident in his life. He had a traffic accident due to which his right leg was badly injured. His family took him to a local hospital. After a thorough examination, the doctors found that his right leg was badly crushed and they had to amputate his right leg below the knee. Since then, Rizwan’s life had been filled with hurdles and dependency. To allow him to stand on his feet again, his doctor recommended a below-knee prosthesis. However, the cost of the prosthesis was beyond his financial reach.
Rizwan lived in a small brick house with his wife, two children, and parents. His father worked as a daily wage laborer and earned just PKR 30,000 monthly. With this insufficient monthly income, it was already difficult for them to manage utility bills, educational expenses as well as groceries. The cost of the prosthesis was overwhelming and they didn’t have enough means to pay for it. Rizwan was extremely worried about what would happen if he couldn’t get the artificial limb. At this young age, he would have to face a future of reliance and challenges. During this time of need, Rizwan’s family contacted Transparent Hands and asked for help. After knowing about his pressing situation, we promptly registered his case.
On 30th October 2024, Rizwan’s right below knee prosthesis was fitted at Hope Rehabilitation Centre Lahore. The procedure was performed under the supervision of Dr. Khalid Niaz. When Rizwan took his first step with his artificial leg, his heart filled with a sense of ease and gratefulness.
Rizwan said:
“I can’t tell you how happy I am. I can now find work to support my family. Before getting this artificial leg, I used to remain extremely frustrated due to my disability. But now, I am hopeful to spend a life where I can pursue my dreams and be an active member of my family. Thanks for your help!”
Rizwan is now learning to walk with his prosthetic leg. His family is incredibly thankful to you for liberating him from his emotional and physical struggles. You changed his life.
