Saeed Bakhshah's Story

Meet Saeed Bakhshah, a 69-year-old man from Lahore, who is experiencing cloudy and dim vision. After struggling with this condition, he consulted a doctor who diagnosed him with a cataract in his right eye. The cataract has cast a shadow over his vision and taken away his ability to recognize his loved ones’ faces. He is facing increased sensitivity to bright lights, such as sunlight or headlights. Saeed faces extreme hardships in carrying out routine tasks and needs assistance to do it. The condition has caused a decline in his quality of life. His doctor recommended Phaco + IOL surgery to restore his vision, but the significant cost of the surgery is beyond his financial means.

Saeed Bakhshah, the only breadwinner in the family, works as a daily wage laborer and makes just PKR 15000 monthly. He lives in a three-room mud house with his wife and two children. To pay for the utility bills (PKR 8000), groceries and other daily living expenses is challenging for Saeed. Furthermore, the family is burdened with a loan of PKR 80,000. Due to their financial hardships, they can’t afford the cost of the surgery.

In this time of need, Saeed reached out to Transparent Hands and asked for help.

Saeed described his grief as follows:

“I am scared that my diminished vision will take away my ability to provide for my family. Despite working to the point of exhaustion, I have no room left for savings. I am looking for help from donors for my life-changing eye surgery.”

Transparent Hands aims to help Saeed Bakhshah and enable him to see his surroundings. We urge you to come forward and contribute as much as you can. The cataract surgery will be effective in improving his vision and quality of life.

Let’s join hands and help Saeed overcome this condition. Donate now and make a significant difference in his life.
