Sadiqa Bibi's Story

Sadiqa Bibi, a 69-year-old resident of Lahore is facing the symptoms of a Cataract in her left eye, causing visual impairment. The condition has made a profound impact on her vision. Recognizing faces and performing daily chores has become challenging for her, leading to a sense of isolation and frustration. The ophthalmologist has advised a Phaco + IOL surgery to restore her sight and improve her quality of life.

Known for her nurturing presence, she has been bringing joy to her family. The vibrant life she once had has faded and she longs for a clear sight to live her life independently.

Sadiqa lives in a 3-marla rented brick house along with her family. Their monthly income is just PKR 20,000. This monthly income is barely enough to cover their basic needs. With house rent amounting to PKR 5000 and utility bills totaling PKR 1500, the surgery cost is beyond their financial means.

Sadiqa Bibi shared her heartache as follows:

“I miss the time when I could see clearly and experience the world around me. I feel helpless and frustrated. It’s like the world around me is fading. I need your support to undergo the advised surgery.”

The Cataract have stolen Sadiqa’s independence and the simple joys of living. She longs for the surgery, which can restore her vision and bring back her independence. Due to their constrained financial circumstances, her family finds it challenging to afford the necessary surgical expenses.

Sadiqa’s family contacted Transparent Hands to register her case. We need your financial support in illuminating Sadiqa’s world and giving her the gift of clear sight.

Together, we can enable Sadiqa Bibi to experience the beauty of the world around her. Your donations can bring a positive change in her life.

Sadiqa Bibi's Story

Sadiqa Bibi, a 69-year-old woman from Lahore, was suffering from short-sightedness and blurry vision. Upon consultation with a doctor, she was diagnosed with a cataract in her left eye. To restore her vision, the doctor recommended Phaco+IOL surgery. However, affording the cost of the surgery was beyond her family’s financial abilities as they were already facing financial hardships. They have a meager monthly income and they live in a modest home. Sadiqa’s life was badly affected by her visual impairment. She used to bump into things while walking and carrying out routine tasks became significantly challenging. She desperately needed the surgery but was unable to pay for it. If left untreated, the cataract could have become worse and increased the risk of glaucoma and even blindness. During this time of need, she contacted Transparent Hands and asked us for help. After listening to her concerns, we promptly registered the case. On 29th July 2024, her Phaco+IOL surgery was performed at Life Hospital, Lahore by Dr. Shaheer. Sadiqa was overjoyed with happiness, and said, “It’s like the world around me has transformed. I can never forget your generosity.” The patient’s family is incredibly grateful to you for supporting them and making her surgery possible through Transparent Hands. Your support has brought light back into her life. Not only did you restore her vision but also allowed him to spend her life with independence and dignity. They will never forget your generosity.
