Ease Shakoor Ahmed’s Neck Pain
Shakoor Ahmed's Story
Shakoor Ahmed, a 45-year-old man from Okara, is suffering from pain and discomfort due to a lump in the front of his neck. Activities like speaking, breathing, and swallowing have become increasingly difficult for him. Shakoor went to a local hospital and consulted a doctor. After performing a thorough examination, the doctor diagnosed him with toxic Multinodular Goiter. This condition involves the presence of multiple large nodules that can cause compression symptoms. The doctor prescribed some medicines, but for long-term relief, he was advised to undergo Subtotal Thyroidectomy. However, the cost of the surgery is overwhelming for him.
Shakoor’s illness can be life-threatening. If left untreated, it may obstruct his airway, cause extreme difficulty in breathing, and may lead to cancer.
Shakoor lives in a modest rented house with his wife and four children. He is the sole breadwinner in the family, works as a daily wage laborer, and makes just PKR 30,000 per month. Their house rent of PKR 12,000, along with utility bills amounting to PKR 5000 and educational expenses of PKR 5000, takes up a significant portion of his income. This leaves little behind for medical costs. Shakoor’s condition is worsening day by day and his financial constraints don’t allow him to pay for his surgery. During this time of need, Shakoor reached out to Transparent Hands and asked for help.
Shakoor expressed his heartfelt plea as follows:
“Each day, I struggle with pain that affects everything I do. I dream of relief and freedom from this illness. I am looking forward to your generous support. Please help me in undergoing the surgery.”
Shakoor’s family depends on him for living expenses, but his illness is becoming an obstacle in his ability to work and provide for them. He is counting on your kindness. Together, we can ease his pain. Come forward and be a light in Shakoor’s darkest hours.
