Ease Numan’s Groin Pain Through Herniorrhaphy

Muhammad Numan, a 30-year-old man from Sheikhupura, is experiencing swelling and pain in his left groin. His lump is growing continuously and causes pain when he coughs, strains, or stands. Numan struggles to carry out his daily tasks and perform well at work. Numan went to a local hospital and consulted a doctor. After performing a thorough examination, the doctor diagnosed Numan with a left inguinal hernia. It is a condition where a part of the intestine protrudes through a weak spot in the abdominal muscles which results in a noticeable bulge in the groin area. To restore his ability to have a healthy life, the doctor has advised left inguinal herniorrhaphy. However, Numan can’t afford to pay for his surgery.

If Numan does not receive the surgery soon, his condition may lead to serious complications such as a strangulated hernia, where the blood supply to the intestine is cut off. This may cause severe pain, infection, and potentially life-threatening damage to his intestines, requiring emergency surgery.

Numan lives in a modest home with his wife and two school-going children. Numan drives a rickshaw owned by someone else and earns just PKR 35,000 per month. With this insufficient monthly income, it’s hard for him to cover utility bills amounting to PKR 3000 and educational expenses of PKR 4000. Numan’s condition is draining him physically and it has become challenging for him to work and provide for his family. He is worried about his condition but his financial limitations make it impossible for him to pay for his surgery.
