Zahoor Ahmad is a 54 years old man working as a Mason for many years. His first wife died few years back after which, he married for the second time. He is living a simple life with his second wife and 2 children. His elder 6 children are married and living separately with their extended families.

About three years ago, Zahoor began to suffer from urinary retention which caused him immense pain and irritation. He was unable to urinate completely and empty his bladder. He went to the hospital and the doctors diagnosed him with Prostate Hypertrophy.

He is experiencing frequent need to urinate and this urgency increases rapidly during the night due to which he cannot sleep peacefully. He also faces difficulties in starting the urination and can hardly empty his bladder.

Doctors have now advised him surgery for permanent relief but this poor man does not have the financial capability to pay for his operation.

Zahoor is unable to go to work for the last two years and is depending on his youngest son for all his expenses. His son is a daily wage labourer who earns only 5000 to 7000 PKR per month. Within this meager income, he is managing the household expenses, paying for his mother’s treatment who is the patient of Rheumatoid Arthritis and also looking after his younger sister.
