Zaheer Ahmad's Story

38 years old Zaheer Ahmad hails from the Mardan district of K.P.K province. He suffers from a condition called an inguinal hernia. While the concept of hernia is clear to most people, an inguinal hernia can occur when tissue protrudes through a weak spot in abdominal muscles in the region of the groin. As a result, a bulge is formed, which can cause immense discomfort and pain during daily life activities and chores. In Zaheer Ahmad’s case, this protrusion was sudden. Ultrasounds suggested that Zaheer should undergo a surgical procedure called inguinal hernioplasty. This invasive procedure involves pushing back the hernia contents to their original abode in the body once the hernia sac is identified.

Zaheer Ahmad needs a right inguinal hernioplasty. But his financial condition is not in his favour. As an instructor at a mosque, Zaheer is earning 15,000 PKR per month as of now. He has a three-membered family to manage which lives in a 2-marla house. On the other hand, a herniotomy is certainly going to cost more than what Zaheer earns for a living.
