Tahseen Abbas's Story
33-year-old Tahseen Abbas suffers from a hole in the heart. The technical term for the disease is VSD, which stands for ventricular septal defect. However, to Tahseen, it means nothing but a void in the heart, which could ultimately prove fatal to his life. Tahseen knew about this disease first when he was seven years old and has been living with a defective heart since then.
With a family of 10 members, Tahseen has to share the burden of winning bread for his family with his father. The fact that his heart will not allow him to engage in any rigorous activity clashes with his family’s needs every day. The result is a meager 10,000 PKR per month and more stress on his heart. Affording a treatment, especially an open-heart surgery that could close the hole in his heart forever, is a dream for Tahseen. However, ever since Transparent Hands reached out to Tahseen, his eyes are alight with new hope and determination.
“Despite my medical condition, I got married simply because I wanted to taste what happiness felt like. Now that I am blessed with a son and a daughter. I think I have finally understood what true happiness means. But if something happens to me, my kids will be unhappy forever. That is the only thought that forces me to keep going, even though I am perfectly aware I cannot meet the costs of treatment on my own. Donors at Transparent Hands are my only hope now. If you are one of them, please think about the happiness of my kids” – Tahseen Abbas
We are determined to keep the light of hope burning in Tahseen and his family’s eyes. But we need your help.
Let us join hands to save Tahseen.
