Saira Fida's Story

Saira Fida hails from tehsil Mian Channu district Khanewal. The thirty-two-year-old lady is a mother of two and is expecting again. Like the previous two occasions, the proposed method of delivery this time as well is LSCS. Lower segmentation Caesarean section or commonly dubbed as LSCS is the most common type of C-section. In this surgical procedure, an incision is made to minimize blood loss during birthing. A cut is made a little above the urinary bladder’s connection with the uterus. The location of this incision is the lower segment, hence the process is called lower segmentation C-section. The biggest benefit associated with this type of C-section is the quick recovery of the maternal tissues.

The costliness of this surgical procedure has made Saira wonder about her chances. You see, Saira is a housewife, the total income is 12,000PKR/month courtesy of daily wages earned by her husband. While her parent and in-laws helped her out on the previous two occasions, no such support is on offer this time. Transparent Hands, after being contacted by the patient, decided to start a campaign for her LSCS.

Despite the daunting challenge, Saira is optimistic that the tide will eventually turn in her favour.

“I will not deny the fact that I am worried about my baby’s future. Yes, things look a little uncertain as of now. But I have always believed that there will be someone to save me at the end of the day.
