Rukhsana Bibi's Story
“I have three daughters and two sons. They are all a handful and quite dependent on me. I am usually pretty active and handle all the day to day responsibilities with ease. But in the past half-year, because of gallstones, I have been experiencing bouts of pain that make it difficult to stay active. We spend almost all of my husband’s income on our children because they matter the most to us. So, I haven’t been able to get the necessary operation yet. We just don’t have the means.”- Rukhsana Bibi talking to TH
Rukhsana Bibi, 39, has been suffering from symptomatic gallstones for over a year now. Because of this, she experiences severe pain and nausea often. So far, she has been treating her symptoms with painkillers but the permanent solution to her problem is a cholecystectomy– the removal of the gallbladder.
Rukhsana Bibi’s husband, Abdul Khaliq works as a laborer and gets paid around 500 PKR a day. On average, he earns 12,000 PKR a month. With five children to support, utility bills and other monthly household expenditures, it is very difficult for them to make ends meet. Rukhasana Bibi and her husband have not yet managed to save up enough to get her operation done.
They approached Transparent Hands in the hope that the procedure can be conducted with your help.
Please donate to Rukhsana Bibi so she can find relief from constant pain.
