Muhammad Rafique 's Story

Muhammad Rafique, aged 51 years, a resident of Lahore city, has been having intense pain and discomfort because of a lump in his right groin region. It appeared around three months ago. Because of it, Rafique could not stand properly or perform routine physical activities. When his pain became unbearable, he decided to consult a doctor for it. Detailed medical examination revealed that Rafique had an inguinal hernia on the right side. He was advised a herniorrhaphy surgery for its repair.

Rafique had already faced great difficulty in gathering enough finances to have himself examined. Affording a surgery was completely out of his budget. His son works as a labourer and earns only PKR 9000 per month. In this small amount, he feeds and clothes six members of his family. Rafique could not even think of adding more financial responsibility on his son’s shoulders. Therefore, in hopes of getting free treatment, he visited multiple local hospitals. However, because of the COVID-19 pandemic, the hospitals are already functioning beyond their capacity therefore Rafique was not able to secure an appointment.

Exhausted and worried, Rafique expressed his misery to a friend. Luckily, his friend was familiar with the work that our organization does. Rafique asked his friend about our office and paid us a visit. We registered his case with us. Now, he is waiting for your donations so that he can go through with his herniorrhaphy.
