Nasira Parvin's Story

“My husband works all day just to put food on the table for us. We cannot afford to pay for my medical expenses. But, I have been blessed with supportive relatives who came to our aid during both my previous operations. This time though, everyone is going through a rough time and I have not been able to find anyone who could help us.” – Nasira Parvin

Nasira Parvin, age 30, experienced difficult labor during her previous two pregnancies due to which, her babies were delivered via lower segment C-section (LS CS). She is now pregnant with her third child and this time again, her baby is scheduled to be delivered in the same way but the procedure is proving to be unaffordable for the family.

Nasira lives with her husband, Imtiaz Ahmad, and two children in a joint family system with her two brothers-in-law and their families. Imtiaz is a painter who earns a daily wage of 500 PKR. His monthly salary amounts to around 13,000 PKR, part of which is contributed to the joint household’s expenditures. The remaining amount is spent on his own family’s needs.

Nasira’s previous two C-sections were paid for with the help of her relatives. This time around, she has been unable to find the resources for her operation and has asked Transparent Hands for help.

Nasira Parvin's Story

Nasira Parvin, 30 years of age. was about to have her 3rd child birth. She had her surgeries done for previous childbirths. This time she was advised elective surgery again. Her C- Section was done on 02-04-20, in Abid Hospital, Mian Channu, by Dr Sadaf Aqeel. She was happy to give birth to a baby boy. She stayed for two days in the hospital and was discharged well along with her healthy baby.
