Naheed Bibi's Story

Naheed Bibi, 32 years old, got married about 10 years ago and has an 8-year-old and a 2-year-old daughter. She had another child who unfortunately died on the third day after birth due to congenital heart disease. All three of her babies were delivered by LS C-sections due to complications during pregnancies. Naheed is now pregnant again and her doctor has recommended C-section as the best course of delivery this time as well.

Naheed’s husband purchases cattle, raises them and after some months, sells them for a profit. This business earns him an average of 6000 PKR per month. This family lives in a small house which has been granted to them temporarily by the government, and are a part of a joint family system, During all three of Naheed’s previous C-sections, financial help was given by relatives and the couple also sold all of their precious ornaments. This time, however, they do not have any resources left and their only hope for a free surgery is Transparent Hands.

“We spent all our savings on the previous surgeries without any hesitation. The lives of our children come first. And for parents who have already been through the loss of a child, it is especially important to save a child’s life at all costs. So believe us when we say, if we had anything to sell, we would have done so without blinking. Unfortunately, we don’t have anything left.” – Naheed Bibi’s husband.
