Donate to Mushtaq Ahmad for His Total Knee Replacement
Mushtaq Ahmad's Story
Mushtaq Ahmad, 73 years old, has been suffering from osteoarthritis in the left knee for the past 8 years. His condition started with an injury to his knee that didn’t heal properly and resulted in post-traumatic osteoarthritis. So far, he has managed his condition with medicines but he is not showing improvement. Mushtaq requires a total knee replacement surgery in order to prevent further deterioration of his joint but is having trouble arranging money for the operation.
“I have been through many ups and downs in life. My wife and I had three children and all of them fell prey to hepatitis when they were young. Not one of my children survived. For many years, it was just my wife and I. We were each other’s support system in all our tribulations. But five years ago, she passed away as well, leaving me all alone. Then my niece saw that I was getting old and could barely walk so she took me in” – Mushtaq Ahmad
Mushtaq is currently living with his niece and her daughter in their house in Faisalabad. The only income he receives is a small pension of 8500 PKR/month. Although his niece takes good care of him, she cannot afford the orthopedic surgery he requires to be able to walk again either. Worried about how to arrange for his operation, Mushtaq discussed his situation with a doctor who told him about Transparent Hands. He immediately visited the organization’s office and requested help with his knee replacement surgery.
Our support can get Mushtaq back on his feet so please consider donating to him today. Every contribution matters immensely.
