Donate to Mukhtaran Bibi for Her Thyroidectomy
Mukhtaran Bibi's Story
Mukhtaran Bibi, 58 years old, has been living with a large swelling in her neck for the past 7-8 years. After visiting a doctor, she was diagnosed with a huge toxic multinodular goiter which is an extensive swelling in the thyroid gland. She was given medicines to temporarily control her thyroid hormone levels and to prepare her for surgery. Her pain wouldn’t go away due to which Mukhtaran Bibi sought treatment from religious healers.
In order to gain permanent relief from her goiter, she requires a subtotal thyroidectomy in which a major part of her thyroid glands will be removed.
Still in pain, she visited government hospitals multiple times, hoping someone would help her. The doctors and nurses wouldn’t listen to her. All they did was give her medicines and asked her to leave. As time kept passing by, her condition kept getting worse and she developed difficulty in breathing as well.
Mukhtaran Bibi has a son and five daughters who all are married and have families of their own to feed. Her husband had passed away five years ago. She lives with her son, his wife, and their child; a total of 4 people living under the same roof in a 3 marla house granted by the Government of Punjab. Her son managed to earn PKR 11,000-12,000 a month by selling fruit. To support herself, Mukhtaran Bibi relied on daily wages, hardly earning PKR 2000-3000 per month by working in a field.
“I am in dire need and Transparent Hands is the only hope I have left. I’m requesting all the donors to help me find relief from this pain.”
Mukhtaran Bibi needs our help and financial assistance to go through with the surgery. To help gain relief from this pain, please send donations her way.
