Muhammad Zulqarnain's Story
20-months-old Muhammad Zulqarnain was diagnosed with atrial septal defect (ASD) just 5 months after his birth. He constantly experienced problems while breathing so his parents took him to a government hospital. The doctors over there suggested that they should get an echocardiogram performed so that they could diagnose the exact condition of Zulqarnain’s heart. The test report showed that he had Atrial septal defect (ASD) and left pulmonary artery (LPA) stenosis. The doctors advised for early surgical intervention. He needs open heart surgery to close atrial septal defect (ASD) and refashion left pulmonary artery by (LPA plasty).
Since then, they have visited Children’s Hospital in Lahore multiple times to get an appointment for his surgery but were not entertained. Zulqarnain’s father is an imam in a local mosque and earns a meagre amount of PKR 6000 per month. They live in a 3 marla house that was passed down to them from their parents.
“I pray for my son’s health all day. People coming to the mosque provide moral support but no one has the financial means to help us with the surgery. I have nowhere to go. This organization is my last hope”- Zulqarnain’s father
On a colleague’s suggestion, they visited the Transparent Hands office. We have taken up their case on an urgent basis and request our donors to extend maximum support to this deserving family.
Please consider donating to Muhammad Zulqarnain. A little financial support on your part could grant him the gift of life.
