Muhammad Zahid's Story

32-year-old Muhammad Zahid was an ordinary tractor driver who led a peaceful life. But an unfortunate accident, four months ago, changed his life forever. He was working in the field on a threshing machine when his left arm mistakenly got crushed.

“It was the worst day of my life. There was so much blood. I was in so much pain that I did not know what to do. My partner quickly informed the owner of the field who took me to the hospital in his car.”-Muhammad Zahid

The doctors performed the surgery for his above elbow amputation for the crushed arm injury. He was admitted and prescribed medicines for pain relief at the time of discharge. On a recent visit to the doctor, he was recommended to get an above elbow prosthetic arm.

But, the cost of a prosthetic arm is out of Muhammad Zahid’s budget. As a tractor driver, he earns only PKR 12,000 per month. His family lives in a joint set-up and they are a total of 8 family members all dependent on a single paycheck. He has visited multiple local hospitals, but no organization has agreed to provide a free prosthetic arm for him. On a physician’s recommendation, he visited our office and we have registered his case.

A prosthetic arm would significantly help Muhammad Zahid in managing his daily tasks. It would also assist him in his work on the field. A small donation on your part will leave an invaluable impact on his life.
