Muhammad Musa 's Story
“I still remember the moment he was born; doctors took him away from me as they sensed that something was wrong. I was extremely frightened. After hours of keeping him under observation, they told us that there is a defect in my baby’s heart. My son who is now 1 year old, has been bravely fighting this disease but now, his heart is slowly giving up. We are living in constant fear of losing our baby. Please help us.” – Muhammad Musa’s mother
Over the past one year, Muhammad Musa has been through a lot of pain due to his heart disease – Tetralogy of Fallot (a combination of four congenital abnormalities; a ventricular septal defect (VSD), pulmonary valve stenosis, a misplaced aorta and a thickened right ventricular wall (right ventricular hypertrophy). Musa cries constantly as he feels difficulty in breathing but it makes his condition even worse. He barely sleeps and doesn’t even eat properly.
They’ve taken him to several hospitals and doctors told them to prepare him for open heart surgery. Musa’s parents don’t have money to even pay for his medicines. Arranging money for his surgery seems like a distant dream to them. Each minute is critical as Musa’s condition is deteriorating with each passing day. This little soul has no idea what’s going on with him. Musa’s father is a vegetable seller in his town. He earns around 15,000 PKR a month. Paying for his son’s surgery is nearly impossible for him. This poor family can lose their little son at any point if they don’t arrange the funds for his heart surgery.
“Our son’s heart can give up any moment if he doesn’t get urgent heart surgery, please help us.” – Musa’s father
