Muhammad Junaid's Story
Muhammad Junaid, 22 years old, has been experiencing upper abdominal pain on and off for the past 4 years. He sought help for it twice. The first time, an IV antibiotic course was administered to him but it did not help ease his symptoms. The second time, no conclusive diagnosis was reached once again. In the last few months, his pain has become particularly unbearable and he requires some tests to help in diagnosing his condition.
“I have tried every free medical establishment in my vicinity. They either stick me with needles or write me prescriptions. I have not gotten better from any of it and the pain is here day and night. I can barely eat anything because of it.” – Muhammad Junaid
Junaid’s financial condition does not allow him to get help from a private institution, so he has only been visiting small local clinics. He and his father both work to earn for his family but even their combined monthly income only comes up to 18,000 PKR. After paying 8000 in rent, there is not much left for this family of 7 to live off. Junaid has approached Transparent Hands in the hope that we can lend him financial assistance.
